Distilled Vinegar and Alcohol

In the past, Glutenfreeda.com has avoided the use of distilled vinegar and alcohol in our recipes due to the controversy surrounding these ingredients. The revised guidelines published in the 6th edition of the Manual of Clinical Dietetics, released by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), represents the most up to date source of information regarding the treatment of dietary illnesses. The new standards include distilled vinegar, from any source, and distilled alcohol as safe foods for Celiacs. All future Glutenfreeda recipes will comply with this information. This will simplify many recipes by being able to use processed ingredients, rather than making them from scratch. It is still necessary to read all product labels to verify the presence of other gluten sources.
