This
years GIG
Educational Conference in Denver was a great success! For
all of you who attended Im sure youd agree the
conference was a great gathering of information, products,
food and friends, new and old.
The Professional programs were praised for
their content and caliber of presenters, the Patient programs
were very well received and covered gluten-free bread making
to learning how to eat and live naturally gluten-free. The
Childrens program was a positive experience for all
and exceeded attendance estimates. The Exhibitor area was
full of wonderful gluten-free products and resources. Whole
Foods, The Gluten Free Pantry, Glutenfreeda, Energ Foods,
book authors and many more provided information, answered
questions and offered delicious samples of gluten-free goodies
for all to taste.
It was great once again to be able to order
directly from the hotels special gluten-free menu. A
western style dinner was served at the banquet where a heart
touching video about Kids Camp was shown. Immediately
following the video, a Pennies From Heaven donation was held
which raised approximately $1800 for camp!
Glutenfreeda was a guest speaker on Friday
morning presenting our topic, Naturally Gluten Free. (see
this months feature, Naturally Gluten-free
for a summary of the talk) Our two hour session was over flowing
with standing room only and about 125 people in attendance.
Glutenfreeda also participated with a booth
in the Exhibitor hall. We had the opportunity to meet many
wonderful people, from fellow exhibitors to people just diagnosed
with Celiac, to medical professionals.
It was a positive, informative and delicious
event again this year. Thank you GIG!
