Howdy, I'm Buck Walters, Men's Cuisine Analyst
for Glutenfreeda.com. The editors of Glutenfreeda are always
looking for input and suggestions, so I decided to do just
that, but from the perspective of men.
Not men like Paul Prudhomme, or that sissy
'Galloping Gourmet' dude, whatever his name is. Jeff Smith?
No, not him, I think he's actually dead or something. Anyways,
I'm talking about your red-blooded, meat eating, fork-cutting,
brocolli eschewing, truck-loving kind of guy. The kind of
guy that would rather be shootin' the breeze at the tavern
with his buddies than spending countless hours in the kitchen
making some fancy-pants Quiche
or French-sounding
thing.
Now, don't get me wrong, I AM a sensitive
kind of guy too. I have a real sweet spot for Celiacs, in
fact my Mom and baby brother (he's 32) who I live with at
home (while I try to define a more upward career-path) are
both celiac. So, living and growing up in a gluten-free house,
I'm aware of many of the products needed to maintain a healthy
gluten-free lifestyle, which makes me uniquely qualified to
dispense my opinions on cooking and men.
Let's Cook Something!
This month's Men's Cuisine Recipe is an
old favorite of mine, and is on the menu of every REAL man
I know. I call it Buck's GF Hot Dogs. First you need some
dogs to burn. My mom loves these crazy chicken hot dogs, which
are free of everything, gluten, preservatives, and unfortunately,
BEEF. But still, with what we're going to top these puppies
with, the fact they are made of chicken will be totally masked
with other bold flavors! So what comes next, well, of course,
gluten-free hot
dog buns!

Buck's GF Hot Dog
|
Directions:
(Makes one hot dog)
- Place your hot dog into a paper towel
(the more spendy ones leave less pulp on your dogs)
- Place wrapped hot dog into microwave
on high for approx. 25 seconds (Why microwave you ask? Although
grilling them over a charcoal flame is the tastiest, boiling
them is the blandest, the microwave does basically the same
job in 1/1000th the time, and as they say 'time is money'.)
- Remove dog from the oven
- Place into bun

This picture has nothing to do with my
delicious hot dogs...I just like it.

Buck's favorite hot
dog toppings:
- Mustard
- Mayo
- Ketchup
- Salt
- BBQ sauce
- Sauerkraut
- Onions
- Pickles
- Jalapeño peppers
- Tabasco Sauce
- Peanuts
- Pork Rinds
Now, THAT'S a REAL dog, for a REAL man!
Now comes the part where I review my favorite
recipes currently found in the vast Glutenfreeda
Recipe Archives:
I hope that this was in some way helpful!
Until next time, keep eatin'!
