Storing
Leafy Greens
Have you ever
bought a nice head of romaine lettuce, tossed it in the refrigerator,
pulled it out a few days later and found a wilted, wet, soggy
mess? Well, say goodbye to those days of wasted greens. Try this
simple method when you store your next bunch of leafy greens.
Remove each
leaf and wash thoroughly. Place in a salad spinner to remove any
excess liquid. Dampen two paper towels (make sure they are only
damp and not wet). Place the washed, dried leaves between the
damp paper towels and insert into a zip-lock bag. Store in the
refrigerator. Your greens will be fresh and crisp for at least
a week. A nice side-benefit of this is that your greens are already
prepped for your next salad or dish.
