Asparagusto!

There is nothing quite like the fresh, slightly crisp bite of asparagus. This delicious spring vegetable compliments any entrée, adding its touch of elegance, even when served in the simplest of ways.

Although there are many methods of cooking asparagus, the desired result is similar for all methods; bright green and crisp tender. Asparagus should be cooked quickly as any over-cooking will turn it into a soft, limp, pale vegetable. Asparagus can be steamed, boiled, sauteed, stir-fried, roasted, grilled and even micro-waved.

To clean and prepare asparagus for cooking, rinse with cold water and bend the spears towards the bottom of the stalks until they break. Discard the ends. The remaining spear is now ready for cooking.
