 The
onset of the fall and winter season finds us thinking about
warm hearty recipes that marry meats and vegetables in delightful
one dish wonders; stews. The common or typical stew, comprised
of meat, potatoes, carrots, onions and celery is usually what
one thinks about when one thinks of stew, but wed like
to share some recipes and ideas that may change your perception
of stews and open the doors to inexhaustible possibilities
for this one-dish meal.
Peanut Butter Stew
The name for this recipe suggests a stew
with a peanut taste; perhaps something that children would
like. On the contrary, this stew has wonderful complex flavors
that blend to a perfect harmony. The peanut flavor is present
but it is not the overpowering taste. The stew is slightly
hot from jalapeno peppers and so will probably not be a favorite
of children. This recipe is a must try!
Basque
Chicken
A delicious savory chicken stew with a smoky
bacon flavoring. The tomato sauce is served on the side of
the chicken that is stewed with red peppers, onions and garlic;
Delicioso!
Serve this over rice for a complete meal.
