What is more comforting that a warm slice of sweet & moist coffee cake on a cool autumn day? Coffee cakes are great because they are typically very easy to make. In addition, converting your favorite gluten-free coffee cake to gluten-free is rather simple since most recipes do not contain a large quantity of flour and they often include enough wet ingredients to produce the desired consistency.
As you may know, coffee cakes, the great breakfast treat, do not necessarily contain coffee – rather they are meant to be served with coffee. Typically they are flavored with cinnamon, nuts and fruits. Apples are the most common fruit to add as an ingredient and usually coffee cakes are topped with a crumbly top.
