We found the vanilla flavor to be close to that of a wheat flour white cake.
The cake is best eaten shortly after frosting. We did not give this cake a very
high score for taste because the texture overwhelms the taste.

We were disappointed in the texture and
heaviness of this cake. We found it to be dense and gritty.
The instructions on the package say to bake it in 9" cake
pans, but we found that the batter was thin and the cake didn’t
rise very much. The cake may have risen better if baked in 8"
cake pans.
