Taste rating
Both of these flavors had a great taste .Even if you’re not a coconut fan, give it a try! It’s not overwhelming at all – adding just a subtle hint of coconut creaminess. The cookie dough itself is fantastic, and I bet  you won’t be able to tell the difference!

Texture rating
Unlike most dairy-free ice creams, Purely Decadent Coconut Milk  Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert is creamy, not icy and crunchy. The cookie dough isn’t grainy and, despite freezing and re-freezing, it stayed soft and easy to chew.

Storage rating
Pints store easily in the freezer, fitting neatly on shelves or in doors.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cookie dough , the texture  and  gourmet flavor of both desserts all without the cholesterol, fat ,sodium, calories  and fructose sugars of other frozen desserts.

This month we tested two flavors for you from the latest additions to Purely Decadents Dairy Free Frozen Dessert Line. I have a few words for you: gluten-free/dairy-free cookie dough “ice cream”. Need I say more? I know what you might be thinking: if it’s made from coconut milk, it will probably taste like coconut – and it does, but not the coconut you’re thinking! The Cookie Dough non-dairy frozen dessert has the subtle, creamy taste of natural coconut milk; not too sweet and definitely not like “that stuff”  they put in candy bars. The chocolate is flaky and smooth, and the cookie dough is deliciously indistinguishable from it’s gluten counterpart.   The Mocha Almond Fudge has  a clear flavor of gourmet coffee enhanced by the chocolate liquor with crispy  almonds both  flavorful and plentiful. 

Both products have organic coconut milk as the main ingredient with agave syrup for the sweetener. The chocolate and fudge uses beet sugar. Both flavors came in at 190 calories for a ½  cup (compare with ice cream  at 290 calories for the same amount) . O cholesterol and lower in carbohydrates, fat and sodium than ice cream.
