These chocolate sandwich cookies taste pretty good. It is really hard not to
compare them with the American favorite.

The cookies are a little too crisp for my taste. I grew up with chocolate sandwich
cookies which were always dunked in a glass of milk. Unfortunately, I
found that these cookies did not absorb the milk as much as I wanted them to.

Although Mi-Del cookies are available in many well-stocked grocery stores (in
their natural foods section) and most natural food stores, this was the first
time I found this product. If your market doesnt carry this product, I
would suggest asking them to contact their distributors and see if they can
order in some.

This product caught my eye on the shelves
at a local natural foods store. Gluten-free Oreos! Now theres
a product worth testing out!! Packaged in a familiar blue
package, I had a glimmer of hope that these cookies might
taste like the all-time favorite "Oreo" cookie.
After the first bite, I knew I wasnt eating an Oreo
(so, if you were doing a blind taste test it would
be obvious which was which), but it certainly wasnt
bad. In fact, I would say it was a relatively close substitute.
The texture of the cookie is crisp and doesnt absorb
milk very well (if you are dipper like myself!) but
the taste is close. The true test came when my kids dug in
and tried them out. To my surprise, they loved them. In fact
they couldnt get enough! So, if you are desperate for
an Oreo-like cookie, we think overall, these Mi-Del Wheat
Free Chocolate Sandwich Cookies will satisfy your "O-R-E-O"
craving.
