This month our test is a little different than usual. Since there were so many products that we tested from this company and they all rated about the same we decided to group these together.

Every one of these products were absolutely great. The bacon was the best bacon I’ve tasted (and I’ve had a lot of bacon!). The sausage links are perfectly seasoned, with just a little bit of heat (but not much) – my son has adopted these as his very favorite. The Li’l Bites were a big hit with my youngest daughter and all of her friends. The ham was great and both the sausages were wonderful as well.

All the pork products tested were nice and juicy (except for the bacon) which was very meaty and crisped up perfectly.
| Storage |
 |
Most often you will find Beeler’s pork products in the freezer section. The shelf life being somewhere around 9 months to a year. The sausages and bacon were easily thawed by placing them in (still in the plastic sleeve) in a bowl of cold water.

This month we tested Beeler’s pork products. The good people at Beeler’s were kind enough to send us a wide variety of their products for test purposes…so we have a lot to report on! Beeler’s Pork products are all gluten-free (except for their new packaged meals) and most are also dairy free, made from all natural ingredients, contain no added preservatives, no artificial ingredients and are minimally processed. In addition, Beeler pigs are raised without antibiotics or growth promotants and are vegetarian fed.
Beeler also uses a farming practice called Heluka. All Beeler pigs are raised on Heluka farms. Heluka means “full of sun”, derived from the Native American language. Beeler pork is given that name because every pig is free to go outside at will to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. They have free access to food and water, free to lounge in the shade or bask in the sunshine, free to romp, root and run with one another – basically these pigs have “stress-free socialization”.
We had the good fortune to test the following Beeler pork products: Boneless Half Ham, Bacon, Li’l Bite (mini cooked sausages), Sausage Links, and Italian Sausage. All of these products were fantastic. So good, in fact, that my husband (a non-Celiac) has decided that Beeler bacon and sausage, in particular, are now his very favorite! I truly respect this company for the way they treat their animals and their high quality standards for feed. I think it results in a great quality product. Plus, the ingredients they use are natural, “real” ingredients –( no need for a chemistry degree here).
Boneless Half Ham Ingredients: Beeler pork, water, sea salt, turbinado sugar, celery powder.
Bacon Ingredients: Beeler pork, water, sea salt, turbinado sugar, celery powder.
Li’l Bites Ingredients: Beeler pork, water, potassium lactate, contains less than 2% of the following: sea salt, turbinado sugar, sage, red pepper, black pepper and celery powder.
Sausage Links Ingredients: Beeler pork, sea salt, spices, turbinado sugar, beef collagen casing.
Italian Sausage Ingredients: Beeler pork, sea salt, fennel, black pepper, beef collagen casing. |
