These tortillas have a slight tang to them unlike what would be expected of a flour tortilla.
| Appearance |
 |
These tortillas look much like a flour tortilla and are a nice size which would be good for a soft taco.
| Texture |
 |
We found the texture to be tough and not particularly easy to work with.
| Storage |

These tortillas come frozen so they should last for quite some time in your freezer.

Overall, we feel that these tortillas don't taste quite like a 'flour' tortilla but they are bigger than a corn tortilla should you have a hunkering for traditional soft taco. |

"Gluten Free - Wheat Free Tortillas"
Ingredients: Tapioca Flour, Water, Sorghum Flour, Potato Flour, Sunflower Oil, Contains 2% or less of: Leavening (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Corn Starch, Monocalcium Phosphate), Salt, Sodium Alginate, Citric Acid, Cellulose Gum, Sugar, Cultured Corn Syrup Solids, Monocalcium Phosphate.
This month we tested Maria and Ricardo’s Wheat-free Gluten-free Soft Taco size tortillas. These tortillas are made primarily from sorghum and potato flour and are made with pure sunflower oil. The tortillas are exactly the size of the gluten-variety for a soft taco tortilla and look much like the original as well. Although they have the look of a soft taco tortilla we found them to be somewhat dry and difficult to chew. The package suggests that you make the tortillas directly from the freezer onto a hot dry skillet or into the microwave, but either way resulted in, what we found to be, rather tough.
Maria and Ricardo’s Gluten Free – Wheat Free tortillas are certified gluten-free, but are processed in a facility that processes other products containing wheat and soy. |
