Product: Crosse & Blackwell
Major Grey’s Chutney

Due to the fact that some specialty gluten-free products are sometimes hard to get ahold of, we thought it might be nice to explore a product that is naturally gluten-free and quite easy to find at your local supermarket. To compliment our article on Chutney’s this month, we have chosen to review Major Grey’s Chutney.

Ingredients:

Imported mangoes, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, distilled vinegar, salt, raisins, lime juice, dextrose, tamarind extract, caramel coloring, spices, natural flavors, dehydrated onions. (Nestlé USA, Inc. was contacted regarding this product "Crosse & Blackwell Major Grey’s Chutney" to verify that it is indeed gluten-free on May 31, 2002.)

This is a wonderful, naturally gluten-free product that will enhance any meat or poultry dish We use Major Grey’s in our Beef Tenderloin with Chutney Sauce Beef Tenderloin with Chutney Sauce as a finishing ingredient to our sauce. It truly is absolutely wonderful and happens to be one of my favorite quick sauces for beef tenderloin or even as a baste for grilled steaks. You can also use Major Grey’s as a base chutney and modify it to include some different characteristics as we did in our Turkey Cutlets with Curried Chutney Turkey Cutlets with Curried Chutney. Once you try it, it will most likely become a must-have in your pantry.
