Serves 4-6 Difficulty
One large chicken, cut into 8 pieces 1-1/2 cups gf catsup 2 Tablespoons tabasco sauce *more to liking 1/8 cup dijon mustard 1/8 cup Jack Daniel whiskey 1/8 cup molasses 1 Tablespoon gf brown sugar 1-1/2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Wash and dry chicken pieces and place on a baking sheet.
In a saucepan combine all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Correct seasonings and cool.
Baste top of chicken pieces with sauce and bake for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile prepare a BBQ for indirect cooking.
Place chicken pieces over a foil container of water and on the opposite side of BBQ from hot coals. Add wood chips to coals, cover; BBQ for 30 minutes. Lather with sauce 2 or 3 times throughout process. Serve immediately.
