Makes about 1-1/2 cups.

Ingredients
1 cup basil leaves
1/2 cup fresh oregano
1/4 cup thyme leaves
1/4 cup fresh chives, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 scant cup of coarsely chopped onions
6 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
1 jalapeño pepper, coarsely chopped
3/4 teaspoon hot paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
dash of ground celery seed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 Tablespoon canola oil
Directions
Process all ingredients in a food processor until a thick paste forms. Use as a marinade for your grilled fish or chicken. Marinade for 30 minutes.
Tips
This marinade can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 2 months.
