Makes about 3/4 cup. Difficulty
1 Tablespoon canola oil 2 garlic cloves, minced 1" piece of ginger, peeled and minced 1/2 cup gf soy sauce 1/3 cup brown sugar Dash of hot red pepper flakes
In a small saucepan heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 2 minutes. Add gf soy sauce, sugar and a dash of hot red pepper flakes. Increase heat to medium high; cook, stirring, until syrupy, about 5 minutes. Adjust seasonings to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let cool.
This sauce is great over grilled steak, fish or even chicken.
