Makes about 2 cups. Difficulty
Easy
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter 1/4 cup gf flour 2 cups 1% milk 1-1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (sharp seems to taste the best)
Directions
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the gf flour and stir until blended. Gradually add the milk; whisking until blended. Place over medium heat and cook until thick; whisking constantly. Remove from the heat and add the shredded cheese, stirring until melted and combined.
Tips
We used the Gluten-Free Pantry's French Bread flour mix for the flour in this recipe.
You can use the milk/gf flour mixture as a base and make just about any kind of cheese sauce you'd like. Try this with Asiago or Gruyere.
