Tomatillo Salsa

Ingredients

2 ounces tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and coarsely chopped
1/4 small white or red onion, coarsely chopped
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
1 garlic clove, peeled (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro sprigs
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
3/4 teaspoon sugar (optional)
Directions
In a food processor or blender, combine tomatillos, onion, jalapeño, garlic and cilantro and coarsely puree, leaving mixture a little chunky.

Remove to a medium bowl and stir in enough cold water to loosen mixture to a sauce-like consistency. Stir in salt and sugar. Serve immediately.
