Makes 4-6 servings. Difficulty
3 cups broccoli florets 1-1/2 Tablespoons olive oil 2 large garlic cloves, sliced Salt and freshly ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
Place the broccoli florets in a pot of boiling salted water and cook until beginning to get tender. Drain and transfer immediately to a boil of ice water. Let sit for 3 minutes. Drain.
Preheat the oven 500°F. Spread the broccoli florets in an even layer in a baking dish and drizzle with oil. Add the garlic slices, salt and freshly ground black pepper and hot red pepper flakes. Stir to coat the broccoli. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the broccoli is tender. Squeeze lemon juice over the top of the broccoli and serve.
