2 pounds broccoli 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced or chopped 2 good pinches of red pepper flakes Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Clean and remove broccoli florets from stems. Blanch until barely tender, about 4 minutes, then drain.
(If not finishing dish until later, cool broccoli under cold running water.)
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring often, over medium heat until aromas are released. Add broccoli and cook until heated through and tender, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
