For herb butter: 1/4 cup butter, softened 1 Tablespoon fresh basil, chopped 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh chives, chopped 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice Salt and freshly ground black pepper Adjust seasonings to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
3/4 pound salmon filet
Directions
Make herb butter: In a medium bowl combine all ingredients. Adjust seasonings to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Form into a log and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Chill or freeze until ready to use.
Preheat grill. Place salmon, skin side down, on a hot grill with lid down for 5-10 minutes depending on thickness of filets. Lay a slice of herb butter on top of filets and continue to cook until done. Filets are done when salmon flakes easily with a fork.
