Add all ingredients except halibut and oil in a small bowl and blend. Add oil and mix well. Pour half of marinade into a baking dish and add filets, coating both sides of fish. Cover dish with plastic wrap and marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour. Preheat broiler. Place filets on a broiling pan and broil for about 4 minutes per side. Baste with a little of the reserved marinade when you turn the filets over. Serve immediately topped with a spoonful of the marinade.
This recipe will work with any firm white fish and is even good on salmon.
