1/2 pound broccoli, broken into florets (discard tough stems) 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 teaspoon anchovy paste Dash of hot red pepper flakes (or more to taste) Salt and freshly ground black pepper
In a pot of boiling salted water, cook broccoli until crisp tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water. Let sit for 2 minutes. Drain.
In a small skillet over medium-high heat, cook oil, garlic, anchovy paste and hot red pepper flakes until garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add broccoli to skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes or until broccoli is heated through. Adjust seasonings to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
