School
days are upon us and that makes for busy schedules and less
time for, well, just about everything including cooking. Weve
found that a great way to save on cooking preparation time
is to prepare a well balanced meal all in one dish and a wonderful
and healthy way to do this is with a main dish salad.
For
some, serving a salad as an entrée may seem insufficient
or lacking, but we prefer to look at it from a different perspective.
A main dish salad is a blending of a variety of foods that
compliment each other in flavor, taste and nutritional value.
Main dish salads can be created with just about any type of
food including poultry, meat, fish, any vegetable, gf pasta,
beans, fruit, cheeses, nuts, herbs and just about anything
else one can conceive of and presented on a bed of just as
many choices of greens.
Creating a successful, meaning delicious, main dish salad
requires that one choose ingredients that compliment each
other or that can be combined to create flavor themes.
Here are a few of our favorite main dish salads:

Creative, delicious and good for you, what could be better
a main dish salad for dinner tonight?
