I had a dinner party the other night and wanted to serve something light and refreshing for dessert. After racking my brain of what might be delicious and EASY, I decided to put together a simple frozen raspberry yogurt accompanied by our own Glutenfreeda’s Real Cookies - Chocolate Minty Python. It was a huge hit. Both the kids and adults raved about how delicious and fun the dessert was. There is nothing better than coming across some great simple and fabulous recipes to keep in your back pocket for impromptu dinner parties or even those that are planned. Plus what’s even better is you can prepare the frozen yogurt the day before or early on the day of your dinner or event...and then when it’s time to serve simply scoop, garnish with a mint leaf and serve! The basic formula (recipe) is very simple and doesn’t require a lot of ingredients. You will need to invest in an ice cream maker (to make your life simple), although you can pick these up at most kitchen stores or even Target without breaking your wallet. Basic Recipe for Frozen Yogurt
Place the milk, yogurt and sugar in a medium bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves. Puree the fruit in a blender. If it is a berry with little seeds, strain the fruit puree through a fine mesh sieve. Then add the fruit puree to the yogurt mixture. Stir to blend and pour into the ice cream maker. Turn the machine on and in about 20 minutes you’ll have frozen yogurt! To make the yogurt the right frozen consistency, I cover the freezer container and freeze it for about another hour to make sure it’s nice and frozen before scooping it and serving it. This month try out these fabulous frozen yogurts. They’re sure to be a big hit with your family and friends! Raspberry Frozen Yogurt -Enjoy! -Jessica Hale
